About Me

Hi! My name is Tejas, and I am a first-year PhD student at the University of Melbourne, Australia. I am supervised by Prof Wafa Johal, and co-supervised by Prof Jorge Goncalves and Prof Roisin McNaney. My research focuses on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction, with a specific interest in how multi-agent Large Language Models (LLMs) can improve the autonomy and trustworthiness of social and assistive robots.

My research is generously supported by the Melbourne Research Scholarship.

Before heading to Melbourne, I completed my Masters degree at Arizona State University, USA, where my thesis was supervised by Dr Hasti Seifi. My Masters research focused on building and evaluating a skin-like sensor using deep-learning techniques for classifying social touch gestures, aimed at improving physical touch interaction capabilities in socially assistive helper robots for children with autism.
